I want to thank everyone for their help and support. I appreciated the opportunity to join your discussions and learn from you. I congratulate the winners for school board and offer them my best wishes. One of the best parts of the campaign was getting to know more people, make new friends and meet voters. I promise to continue working for children in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro public schools.
I want to thank my excellent campaign team (campaign manager: Maria Winslow and volunteers: Rosie Benzonelli, Donna Bauman, Bernard Glassman, Cutler Andrews, Anna Millar, Cecilia Wu Tanaka, Mary Stuart Irwin, Amy Farley, Sarah Treul, treasurer: Shelby Pohlman) and all the volunteers who put up signs, greeted voters, hosted meet and greets, folded flyers, cut bookmarks, helped with my website, etc. A special thank you to those in our community who endorsed me both publicly and privately, and to my neighbors who pitched in with childcare when I couldn't be home after school or in the evening. I especially thank my husband and children.
I urge everyone to attend the Community Assembly on Education on November 8 from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. at Hargraves Center 216 N. Roberson St.
With my thanks,
MaryAnne Gucciardi

I voted on Saturday at
I voted on Saturday at Morehead Plane-arium and you were there and I met you and shook your hand. I didn't vote for you. I'm sorry. I wasn't following the school board race and I don't believe in voting for races I'm not following. I did end up voting for Joe Green because of something I read he said, even though I wasn't following the race, but he's the only one I voted for for school board and I didn't really intend on voting for anyone. I'm glad you enjoyed your run for office though. Good luck.
