Short term pain, long term gain
I live right off Umstead so this will impact me a lot, even my bus will be re-routed. I've known this was coming for about 6 months, though, and doing it is a prerequisite for the next phase of the Bolin Creek Greenway to come down Umstead. I'm really looking forward to having the greenway so accessible from my home. Fortunately, we'll still be able to walk to the park during most of this project, and as a bonus there will be lots of big trucks there for my son to ogle.

That's quite a disruption. Hopefully the work is completed on a reasonable schedule and isn't subject to interminable delays.
