The Orange County Voter Services of the League of Women Voters of Orange, Durham, and Chatham Counties (LWVODC) in cooperation with the Seymour Senior Center of Orange County are sponsoring a candidates'forum for Carrboro. It will be held:
Tuesday October 15, 2013 7pm to 9pm
Seymour Senior Center Theater
The candidates will be invited to give opening remarks followed by their responses to a series of questions developed by the Orange County Voter Services Team, and the general public via Facebook and Twitter. The candidates, running for Mayor and Councilman, of Chapel Hill, will be invited to give opening statements starting at 10 AM 7 PM. The public and news media will be invited, and the event will be recorded and available to news media outlets.

Chapel HIll Mayor and Council candidates will be asked questions prepared by Board members of the Friends of Downtown at this event. Candidates who have not run for office before will go first, followed by the incumbent candidates, and then Mayor Mark Kleinschmidt (running unopposed). Before answering their first question, each candidate will have two minutes to introduce themselves to the audience. After each question, the moderator will ask someone from the audience for one follow-up question on the topic. If time permits, he will ask a second audience question of each candidate.
Coffee will be available at 9:30am prior to the start of the forum.

One challenger and two incumbents are all running unopposed for mayor in our three municipalities.Theymay be shoo-in's but we still want to know that they will represent us. Outgoing Carrboro Mayor Mark Chilton will serve as the moderator in a conversation with all three candidates.
