School board forum at Chinese School of Chapel Hill

Barroughs, K. Castellano and M. Kelly). Each will be allowed to speak
for up to 8 minutes. Q&A will follow. Some social time will be allowed
at end. Forum will end by 6:00 PM. Principal of Chinese School of
Chapel Hill, Ms. Gu, will be the moderator.

More than 150 delegates of Justice United will meet with candidates for elected office and decision makers. Justice United leaders will discuss the specifics of the Justice United Action Agenda for the Common Good which was developed with the input of more than 1,000 residents of Orange County.

Live Online Candidate Forum: Chapel Hill-Carrboro Board of Education

The editors of OrangePolitics are excited to announce our first-ever online candidate forums for the upcoming Chapel Hill-Carrboro school board, Carrboro Board of Aldermen, and Chapel Hill Town Council elections. Orange County journalist Kirk Ross, former editor of the Carrboro Citizen and a columnist for both the Citizen and the Independent Weekly among others, will serve as the moderator of all three forums.

Each forum will consist of real-time written conversations between the candidates and the moderator. Questions will be solicited from OP readers before and during the forum. The moderator will have final say in question selection. The events will take place online at orangepolitics.org, with one evening dedicated to each race covered.

Hogan Farms Precinct of Orange County Democratic Party Hosts Forum for Candidates Running for Chapel Hill-Carrboro Board of Education

 

The Hogan Farms Precinct for the Orange County Democratic Party will be hosting a candidate forum for Chapel Hill-Carrboro Board of Education on Wednesday, October 26th from 7:30 – 9:00 pm at the Lake Hogan Farms Club House.  The address for the Club House is 101 Commons Way, Chapel Hill, NC  27516.

There will also be a meet and greet at the Club House beginning at 7:00 pm.  

The moderator for the evening is Fred Black, Host for WCHL News.  The following candidates have confirmed that they will be able to attend the forum:  Mia Day Burroughs, James Barrett, Kris Castellano, Annetta Stokes Streater, Michael Kelley, and Jamezetta Bedford.

The forum will feature two-minute opening statements from each of the six candidates, followed by 40 minutes of questions from the moderator and 40 minutes of questions from the audience, and then two-minute closing statements from the candidates. 

“At a time when the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Public Schools are facing many pressing issues, the forum will give the voters an opportunity to determine which candidates can provide the best leadership over the next four years,” says Susan Romaine, chair of the Hogan Farms Precinct for the Orange County Democratic Party.
