Our elections were not pushed back by the state legislature and will still be held in November. Filing dates are a month earlier than when I ran for Chapel Hill Town Council in 2013. This year filing dates with Orange County Board of Elections are 7/2 tp 7/16/21. Filing fee ranges from $5 to $15. Make sure you have your political finance committee set up and be ready to make reports by the time you file. Good luck.
I was glad to learn our congressman voiced his concern about the upcoming elections in El Salvador. There has been violence against some of the opposition parties including FMLN. Years ago many of us were active in CITCA and helped after Hurricane Mitch 20 plus years ago. Just this pass year there were to major hurricanes in Honduras again.

After decades it is now posible to bike almost entirely off road From Kings Mill Neighborhood (Glennwood Elementary) to the Rainbow Soccer Fields to the Community Center to Umstead Park to Northside Elementary and then to downtown. Enjoy the spring.
Today I picked up the fliers for Kings Mill precinct from Orange County Democrats to pass out (on the front porch, socially distancing, no knocking on doors) with a sample ballot, directions how how to vote early or absentee and ways to get economic help from the county if you need it. One person told me she already mailed in her ballot. Nov. 3 will be here soon.
Here is the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools’ plan for school reopening Note the first week 1/4 of High School kids attend each day and then they do online learning for the first part of the semester. Middle and Kindergarteners do a hybrid schedule.
