The week in county politics starts tonight when the Chapel Hill Town Council will consider what to do with its vacant seat and continue Tuesday when the county commissioners review solar power development and Carrboro Alderfolks get an overview of the town’s budget for the upcoming year. Later in the week, the Chapel Hill-Carrboro School Board will consider approving several policy changes.
Both the county school board and Hillsborough Town Board will be on break this week.

CARRBORO BOARD OF ALDERPERSONS

Business Meeting: Tuesday, May 5th, 7:30 pm @ Carrboro Town Hall
- The Board will receive an overview of the Manager’s proposed Fiscal Year 2016 Budget.
- The Board will receive an update on the Durham-Orange Light Rail Project.
- The Board will hold a public hearing on the re-zoning of the Triem Lot.
CHAPEL HILL TOWN COUNCIL

Work Session: Monday, May 4, 6 pm @ Chapel Hill Town Hall
- The Council will receive public comment on the Council vacancy left by the resignation of Matt Czajkowski and then consider whether or not to appoint someone to that vacancy
- The Council will also interview applicants for the Community Design Commission and Planning Commission
- The Council will also consider the draft Chapel Hill Arts Plan
- The Council will also review the concept plan for the proposed Chapel Hill Retirement Residence at 700 Estes Drive
CHAPEL HILL-CARRBORO BOARD OF EDUCATION

- The Board will consider recommending approval of several policy changes.

ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

- The Board will get an update on solar energy development in the county
- The Board will consider designating the White Cross School as an Orange County Local Historic Landmark
