Hello,

I was recently discussing my desire to return to North Carolina to work with a friend who suggested I go to Orange Politics, who said that the group contained progressive minded, well connected people involved in politics, who may be able to help me. The circumstances I am looking for work in are somewhat unique, so I shall try and elucidate concisely as possible.

I'm a British citizen, currently in my final year at the University of Warwick, England, where I am studying for a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Politics. I'm on a GPA of 3.92 out of 4.00 and hope to maintain and build on this in the coming year. Last year, I was fortunate enough to secure a highly competitive study abroad place at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, where I majored in Political Science.

During my time at Chapel Hill, I got the chance to travel across North Carolina, it's a state that I have absolutely fallen in love with, and am proud to call home. Many of my friends live there, as does my girlfriend, who I will be flying over to visit in December. A crucial cornerstone of the state is the sense of not only entrepreneurship, and a desire to better one's lives through hard work, but also with that, a spirit of community when times are hard, with people banding together to help those they don't know.  In Orange County especially, it's heartening to see such a commitment to progressive values.

I'm hoping to return to North Carolina following graduation, in June, to work and to be with my girlfriend, in the state, and country, I love. Due to the lengthy nature of securing a visa, I am currently looking for work in the state, preferably in the Triangle area round Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill. I was wondering if anyone on here may be able to help, be it an interview for a potential job, passing along  a name of someone who is hiring etc. I would greatly appreciate anything you could do, or anyone you could recommend who might be able to assist.

I have experience working in politics, journalism, teaching, and in music, and would be happy to send across my resume and any references on request. I am a very hard worker, and don't see a job as a 9-5 chore but as something to be approached with enthusiasm and dedication, especially in the field of politics, where the work that is being done actively changes people's lives for the better.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this, I very much appreciate it.

Best,

Stuart Shevlin.
