You may have seen my earlier post that described what theme groups are actually are and what they'll be doing. Tonight, theory will become reality with the first of the four theme group working sessions at Ephesus Elementary School. Here's what on the agenda:
- Review the process
- Clarify the roles and responsibilities of all members and leaders of the group
- Identify the components for the theme based on the community data collected at previous meetings
- Identify areas in common with other themes
- Identify resources for the group, both in terms of staff and data
- Have discussion of decisions in the theme group
The overall goal is to identify the components for each theme in the big picture and aspirational sense and to figure out the information needed to begin more in-depth discussion on goals. When you walk into the school, room assignments will posted in the atrium area. You can choose to work with whichever group you like. It doesn’t matter is you signed up for a specific group or if you didn’t sign up at all—go to the group that interests you the most.
The meeting will run from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Ephesus Elementary School, which is located at 1495 Ephesus Church Road. Check out this map of the school grounds to get a good idea of where to go. Since I doubt there will be WiFi at an elementary school, check back later for my updates on how the meeting went. I’m a total transit junkie, so I’ll be working with the “Getting Around: Transportation” theme. Come out and participate!
