The forum starts at 7pm and it is being held at Chapel Hill's Town Hall on MLK Blvd.

As the youngest democrat running and a non-incumbent I am particularly interested in hearing what Alderman Broun might say.
But why?
It appears to me that we already have a commissioner who is "caring, committed, and [an] experienced public servant who works to insure that our community retains its charm while promoting a healthy, vibrant, and environmentally and economically sustainable community." His name is Barry Jacobs. Besides generalities, I have seen nothing from Broun to indicate why she thinks voters should vote for her instead of Jacobs. By dividing the liberal and black vote, Broun's candidacy might provide an opening for the third candidate, conservative Democrat Joe Phelps, former mayor of Hillsborough, to winI am in no way saying Ms. Broun did not have the right to run. She did and so does anyone else. I am just questioning why she saw a need to do it in this particular race. .
I disagree
Phelps has no support in southern Orange, Broun has no support in northern Orange. They'll cancel each other out, actually helping Jacobs. Why either of them is running in the at-large race is a mystery.

Great job, and where is Rogers Road?
Thank you for the live blog, Ashley! You did a great job, as did the Sierra Club (especially Jason Baker moderating). I've been watching on TV, and it's great to see the candidates now - before they've gotten bored of their own stump speeches (some haven't even figured out their issues, it seems).I was surprised to not hear any questions about Rogers Road or even the Waste Transfer Station. Did I miss it?

Waste transfer was mentioned. Not sure a regional station was, specifically. But Rogers Road was not definitely not discussed.
Waste Management Issues
I think there was a Sierra Club question that asked the about the county's waste management issues, and some of the candidates touched on the WTS in the process of answering. But I'm surprised that a major environmental group wouldn't ask a more pointed question about environmental justice and landfill responsibilities.
