I believe domestic violence is our number one social problem. It's largely hidden, but affects us all. You don't have to be the direct victim of domestic violence in order to feel its effect. We're all connected; we all feel it. The toll it takes on community is staggering.
My favorite public figure who has taken on this cause is Joe Torre with his ‘Safe at Home Foundation' http://www.joetorre.net/ I am so impressed with this man for telling his story and for compassionately reaching out to help others.
(I just don't understand how anyone could hate the NYY with Torre on board!)
